So we just bought a new house and it has a hook up for a gas dryer. Anyone have any experience with them? After doing some research it looks like gas might be a bit cheaper to run and dries faster. Anybody have any things to look out for with these, I'm kind of leary about making sure it's hooked up correctly and doesn't leak.

Gas dryers are generally a little more expensive. My house has had and electric hookups in the laundry room, but we went with gas for the long term cost saving and the fact that it does so much faster. We have already made up the cost difference in the few months we've used it. I would highly recommend a gas dryer over an electric dryer.

I never had a gas dryer until I moved into a rent house out here in California - There was no 220 volt outlet but I had a gas connection sticking out of the wall, so I picked up a gas dryer. It dried clothes quickly and i never had any issues with it. Just push the start button and off it went. After awhile I quit worrying about it.

The house now has gas heat and water heater but electric range and dryer. There is a hookup for the dryer I just have had electric dryers since living in Texas.
I want to get a gas range.Last edited by Chili; 11-16-2013, 03:19 AM.
