Opinions of The Movie Tavern North of Ridgemar? Is it dirty and nasty like the one off Green Oaks and 20?

I haven't been to that one, at least not in years. FWIW, but the one on 183 and Central in Bedford is decent.

What movie theater that has been around a while isn't pretty nasty? I thought that is why the lighting is always low.

I've only been twice to a Movie Tavern and both times it sucked. You can't hear the fucking movie form people eating, drinking, placing orders, and waiters moving around shuffling plates and trays around. Anyways, cool concept on paper but horrible experience.

News to me. It's an older theater, but I've never thought it was dirty at all. That being said I usually avoid movie taverns unless I'm going with someone else who wants to go to one. The food sucks and is over priced, and the people walking around are distracting.

I worked at movie tavern in college, always had a good time. Not the best theaters, not the best food, but good cold beer and comfy chairs was always welcome.

Older is an understatement, I used to go to the movies there when I was in high school and I've been out more than a quarter century.
Serving beer and snacks, and a movie, sounds like a great outing to me.

I thought so. I'm comparing it to Studio Movie Grill. (Not to say SMG is the best but just as a comparison.)

Yup, I was seeing movies there in the late 80s. Used to be my theater of choice when it was AMC. Saw Pulp Fiction there 3 times when it came out.

We've gone to the MT over SMG just because every time we went to SMG my wife would end up with her students that worked there. She is cautious about drinking in front of them, and MT doesnt have 50 highschool kids working there.
