  • Anyone have a Droid Ultra or Max?

I am about to upgrade from my M and was curious if or how well the new phones are liked?

Picked up a Note 3 last week. I love it. Battery life is ridiculous compared to my S2.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

Since you're inquiring about "Droid" phones, I'm gonna assume you're on vzw. Check out the Moto X.

And they just got the one you can customize to your liking as well.

I was specifically asking about the Motorola Ultra and Moto X. I ended up ordering the Ultra. I never have battery life issues and I wanted the larger screen. I did not realize they lost the option to run Micro SD cards though. Had I known that I would have purchased the Moto X for the added memory.

And yes I am Verizon. They are a little more money but they have service everywhere. Should hear my co worker and customers complain about their ATT/Sprint/T-Mobil/PCS etc etc out here and how they never work. My Verizon always works and I even have 4G out herein the boonies.

And their 4G is faster too. My Motorola M on Verizon will load a page way faster than my friends G3 on ATT.

No love for the S4 huh? Well, with the exception of moto X and G, their moto line is pretty crappy. Hope it works out for you!

Hate Samsung. Every Galaxy I had I hated. Their screens are weak and the batteries need to be recharged between recharges. I know some people love them but some people think the iPhone is good too.

Sounds like you had some old galaxy phones. Sorry to hear about the crappy experience. My experience with Motorola phones has probably been the equivalent of what you don't like about samsungs. Atrix, Droid slider, and droid X were just trash for me. S4 is solid in every way, except for the flimsy plastic back. . . which i like, since you can get custom ones very easily.

Yeah see mine was opposite. I had the first RAZR when they came out and loved it. Went through hell and back. For whatever reason I upgraded to some Samsung slider phone. What a POS but it looked cool. Then I got the first Droid and loved my phone all over again. Didn't upgrade until the new RAZR came out and bought it. Loved that phone. Had it a week and closed it in the hood of a customers car. Got a Galaxy S as a temp replacement. Phone was just terrible. Always locked, did crap I didn't want it to do, reception sucked, slow as hell. I punched it and it shattered. So I got a Galaxy Skyrocket. First time dropped, from 3' onto linoleum and it shattered. Had it fixed and two days latter tossed my keys on it by accident and it shattered. My friends S3 sucked ass too so didn't even bother. Bought a Droid M and love the phone. Never one issue from it. Dropped tons of times and slammed into carp and thrown around and it isn't even scratched. Now just time for another phone and Motorola has always made the best handsets for me.

I have the Razr Maxx, no real complaints. I mainly got it for the battery life.

With the advent of Android 4.x, it hasn't supported ext-sd as made by Google, the oem's add it back in. Reason being is the format of the ext storage is so archaic, it doesn't support permissions like ext3/4/ntfs...thus making it insecure. That also inhibited the OS from makin virtual partitions for multiuser support.

The Ultra showed up today. Been setting it up and playing with it all day. Nice phone. Only thing I don't like and wonder why it does not do it is the voice command does not seem to play whats on the phone already. Like I say "Play Korn" or "I want to hear Korn" and it just goes online and offers me downloads for the music.
They say they are constantly upgrading it so maybe that will be corrected soon.

besides that it is very fast and seems to have a nice video chip set in it.

Leah and I both have the droid RAZR Maxx. I have been really happy with mine but Leah bitches about hers fairly often.

Battery life is good, nice big screen and it's a solid platform. I've had it over a year and have no desire to get anything else.
