  • New meds = whoa

Yesterday I had my millionth doctors appointment and I was in so much pain when I walked in that my resting heart rate was 138. After telling her that I had grown immune to the massive doses of hydrocodone and cyclobenzaprine I take every day she prescribed me something I've never had before- gabapentin.

Instead of a pain killer it is supposed to work against nerve damage and deaden them. I took the first dose before I went to bed last night and had dreams that made Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas look like a family film. Waking up, the pain is minimal, maybe 2 or 3, EVERYWHERE, which considering the road map of wastelands that is my entire back and neck is astonishing. I almost remember what it felt like to wake up after a good nights sleep at 19, with no pain at all and ready to conquer the world. God I feel fucking incredible. This is awesome.

I seriously have to be careful. Getting over confident about things puts me in danger of hurting myself again by over doing it. I feel like I could knock out King Kong right now.

Not that its at all the same, but when I have knee surgery, they pumped me full of pain meds and sent me home. My knee was swollen, wrapped in ten pounds of wrapping, and I couldnt bend it much if at all.

I got home and was feeling great. I was hobling up and down the stairs, help my buddy load up a 351 longblock he was storing in my garage, generally having a great day. The next morning I could barely move, and have never been in so much pain.

Good to hear! Are they gonna do surgery or any Implantables for long term relief?

KK's agent heard you were talkin' shit. JITB in 15?

Glad the back/neck pain is better. With back pain, sometimes even breathing can hurt like hell. Forget about sneezing - when mine was so bad a few years ago, there were times I knew I was about to sneeze and my eyes started watering knowing how bad it was going to hurt.
