Trivia...Ford, who made the first pick-up trucks, shipped them to dealers in
crates that the new owners had to assemble using the crates as the beds of
    the trucks.
The new owners had to go to the dealers to get them, thus they had to
    pick-up" the trucks.
And now you know the "rest of the story".

The official model name form Ford was "Ford Model T Runabout with Pickup Body." No mention of "build your own" or "come get a box full of parts."
"When ordered from the Ford factories these pickups were usually painted black or green. If they were green their fenders and radiator shells were painted black. Ford also offered the pickup box, painted black, separately at their dealer parts department for $25.00. So a customer could have a pickup box "

Kinda blows the "build your own and use the crate as the bed" thing out of the water.

Not to mention that Ford started factory producing them in 1925 but the Chevrolet Brothers and Dodge Brothers had been in the pickup market since 1915 or so.

I call BS on this one.... maybe in 1998, but it's certainly not even close to current.

I am having a hard time believe the SS409 running 0 to 60 in 4 seconds flat, in stock form. Also calling BS that is still the best time. This quiz needs to be updated at the least.

Interesting trivia. It is believed President Grover Cleveland's steamer was more famous.

Those 14" bias-ply tires with maybe a 5.5" contact patch are the shit!

Like I said in my first post, after a brief glance, that list is shit. Did that come from some page-a-day calendar from the 90's?

My dad used to brag that his 69 Roadrunner could get rubber in all four gears, and I said "yeah on tires 5" wide."
