Sorry to hear it. I've lost several friends and some family members to suicide. A few years ago I lost a very close friend and mentor to suicide. I knew he was hurting, and what he was going through. We talked about it every day, as I was going through several of the same things that he was at the time. I never, for one second, thought he would take matters in to his own hands and end it like that. In the end I think it was a bad combination of anti depressants and alcohol that impaired his judgement and pushed him over the edge. I still struggle with it, as do many others. Keep your head up.

I used to think it was fucked up and selfish, but then I realized that these people aren't usually thinking clearly in that final moment. Depression and pain can completely hijack your mind, and sometimes I think that the most brilliant people potentially have the deepest depths that their thoughts could fall into. Some are strong enough to pull out of it and some aren't. It's a weakness, but not a selfishness. Doesn't make it okay, but I don't really believe that most do it for attention or to hurt all of their loved ones. So shit, ease up. It shouldn't make you feel better to talk shit about someone's dead friend unless they really deserved to die for something awful.

RIP to all mentioned in this thread.

I know exactly how you feel. You have them right in front of you talking and acting like it's just another day, then BAM you're hit with the info. It just kinda hits you like brick wall and leaves you a little speechless. Just pondering that fact that you never even knew that something like that was swirling around in their head.

It's worth noting that while he wasn't able to answer everyone's questions on why, he did provide a lot of insight into his reasoning.
                  That site is messed up!

Sorry for your loss. Love the P.S. remark.
Now that I'm 65 it's much better, really, I don't think age has anything at all to do with suicide.

Not sure it's selfishness either, or a pussies way out, as it's pretty damned difficult to put a gun in your mouth and pull the trigger.

RIP to those named, and to those not named.
