EDIT: I'll add, he's looking for a quick sale, and someone ready to buy. He's got to be in Houston in Dec/Jan.
    PM sent.

My Realtor was okay, she wasn't stellar, at times I was a little frustrated.

Just FYI, realtor.com pulls straight from the MLS but it may be 1-2 days behind.

It should go without saying but most don't do this...

Contact at least three recommended realtors and meet them individually. Tell them you are looking to sell and need a realtor. Set up an appointment with each one. They will want to see the house. The first meeting will not require you to commit or to pay them. They know this. You are shopping for a realtor. Plain and simple.

Yup. We're on the 10th floor of a concrete apartment building. There's 24/7 security and EMT staff and we're a mile away from a top rated hospital. We've got food for a week. We're good. Thanks.

I'd suggest Amy, but I'm also extremely biased!

That sucks. I lucked out and found a stellar Realtor.

A Realtor can make or break the experience. A bad one can make you never want to buy a home again. You can buy without a Realtor, but using a good one (like Nate or like Amy appears to be from reviews here) will make your life upteen times easier.

Realtor's job, unless you want to talk to the inspector (I met mine out there).

Bringing this back. Trey you can expect a call in the next few weeks to get that pre-approval paperwork started.

Taking suggestions on realtors. Called Amy last time I was looking and never heard back.

Man I have never had a good experience with a realtor. Sold 2 houses and bought 3...each time they have been shady.

If you're buying new construction skip them first to see if the builders will give you a price bbreak vs paying comission.

I used the The Grove Team from Keller Williams last year. We had our consultation, and a few days later their designer came out and gave us an extensive list of things we needed to address. It took us a month and a half, but we marked off everything. The designer came back in and staged the house (they brought a lot of decor) and their photographer took great pictures.

The listing went "live" online on a Thursday night. By Friday morning we had 4 showings lined up. By Saturday morning we had a bidding war. By Sunday we accepted an offer well over asking price.

What really sold me was when they did the exact same for my parents.

They will stand by you the entire way. I highly recommend them.

Bidding wars are common in the dfw even on FSBO listed houses....except those sales don't piss away 6% of the sales price to sell something that will sell itself.
