I lived in Round Rock for 9 years. It was a great area until another million people moved there as well. Glad I'm in Frisco now.

Just has a run down dirty feel to me nowadays.

yup, in Austin it's eclectic to be trashy, which the whole city has that vibe. Never feels like anything gets taken care of or any upkeep happens, because weird is cool!

Never noticed that. Lived in NorthWest Austin for 8 months, UT Campus for 3, and have spent a lot of time in South Austin. There are ghetto areas, but they're really no worse than Riverside in Fort Worth or pretty much anywhere in Dallas.

Yeah but weird = cool was actually the way Austin was in the 70's. Now its just trashy and run down. I used to love going to Austin. Now its just a place I try to get through without hitting too much traffic. That's just a shame, really.

only the newly built areas feel "clean", then a few years they are treated like shit by everyone there, and just become like the rest of Austin.

Sure there are nice parts, lakeway, etc. but general central Austin just feels dirty
