The Little Elm Independent School District says Little Elm High School is on a "precautionary lockdown" after a student posted on Facebook about bringing a gun to school.

A statement by the school district said a "rumor of a potential threat and possible possession of a weapon" on the high school campus lead to a lockdown as a precaution while authorities located the student involved in the allegation.

Little Elm Police Chief Waylan Rhodes said a male freshman student posted on Facebook he was going to bring a gun to school. There was no immediately identifiable targets or specific threats, just the message that he was planning to bring the weapon.

That student was not at the school during the first period of the day.

Police are continuing the lockdown while they conduct a room to room sweep. They are also sending officers to the student's home.

No one has been injured and no weapon has been found yet.

Visitors and parents are asked to not arrive at the campus.

I got suspended in either first or second grade for bringing finger nail clippers to school..true story.
