99 v6 Odometer goes blank

My odometer will go blank sometimes. It will go off then come back on driving down the road. Sometimes it won't come on at all. I am about to get the car inspected this week and I don't want the odometer to be blank.

It's a common problem with the fords from that era. It's usually in the cluster itself, most people never bother to fix it.
