Well put sir. Just like it was stated above, it is sad when it is done in the work place but on a message board, not a big deal.

Simple mistyping, misspelling or minor mistakes with grammar can be expected.
It's the knuckleheads who constantly misuse sale/sell, there/they're/their, here/hear, ect. that must have gotten their HS diploma out of a vending machine at Walmart.

All other errors I blame on fast typing or just your normal type and they do not bother me.
It's not an error. It's a common saying, similar to referring to one meal as "good eats".

Like everyone has said, simple mistakes are expected. The two that bother me the most are the misuse of you're and your, and They're, there, their.

Funny thing is I never really noticed how horrible my grammar was until I started posting on this board. Now it's so bad I find myself concentrating on mistakes, when people send me a message, then the actual point of it.

I used to have a manager that could have written all of those Chik-fil-a billboards. It was so bad that I couldn't even guess what he was trying to type most of the time. For some reason he always smelled like ether and booze as well.

The most common one has to be your/you're. Most people can't get it right.

The ones that have been bothering me lately are when they say they have something for sale. For example, "I want to sale this car." And another is when they say, "I have to loose some weight." That drives me nuts. But, yes, the grammatical errors and especially abbreviations drive me up the fucking wall.

Between diction, vocabulary, and spelling, someone uses, I can pretty much figure out who I'm dealing with.

The your/you're thing is completely out of hand. Nine out of ten do not know the difference between the contractual and the possessive.

I deal with this on a daily basis.

Anything that will be seen by more than one person should be absolutely error free. If it's personal, I still do not like to see multiple errors or phonetical quick type.

Improper speech is the biggest sign of a lack of intelligence, and the quickest way to lose your credibility and my interest.

I worked with a white guy that said things like "axe", "seen", "somewheres", and "brung". He lost $100 and was completely pissed when I bet him that "brung" was not a word. Total douchebag. I've also worked with people that would have to prove to me that they had a highschool education because they were completely illiterate. On the phone they would have to spell street names because the could not pronounce them. Once in a while is o.k., but when you cannot pronounce "Roan", you need to go back to grade school.
