2 dead, 2 in critical condition after shooting at Nevada middle school

Two people are dead and two boys are in critical condition after a shooting Monday at a middle school in Nevada, authorities say.
Angela Rambo, a spokeswoman for the Renown Regional Medical Center, said both people injured in the shooting at Sparks Middle School in Sparks, Nev., were males.
Washoe County School District Police didn't immediately offer details of the identities of the dead. They said the suspect is "down," but offered no further details.
A Sparks police dispatcher said reports of the shooting started coming in at 7:16 a.m. Monday. The shooting happened on the school's campus, but outside the school building itself, according to police. The area is now secure.
“I can tell them to rest assured. The schools are safe. The rest of the city is safe," Reno deputy chief Tom Robinson said, according to the Reno Gazette-Journal.
Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval said in a statement that he was "deeply saddened to learn of the horrific shooting."
“My administration is receiving regular updates and the Nevada Highway Patrol is assisting at the scene," he added.
Washoe County School District spokesman Charles Rahn told the Associated Press that the middle school and the adjacent Agnes Risley Elementary School have been evacuated to Sparks High School. Rahn said the middle and elementary schools will be closed Monday.
