Uhhh, its two hours from my house in Allen, son!

I go a few times a month to that area. Though you are right, from the loop in Tyler to Dallas is about an hour and half.

exactly, he's not driving to Allen!! haha

I have the same problem coming from just north of longview. I can get to 635 in under 2 hours but getting to DNT and SRT is a pain in the ass at times.

Prosper to 635 going down the DNT is a beast during rush hour. Now if you schedule can be moved around to travel to/from at different hours, then it is a very easy drive at 70mph+. Preston/289 is under construction from 380 to all the way north of Celina, but it should be done in a year or so. You could look in the McKinney/Anna/Melissa area, but again 75 is being worked on along with 635 and those two projects won't be done for awhile. Pick your poison.

Have you tried coming up to I-30 and coming in through 380? This is the route I take, since my buddies shop/house is in HLR north of Hawkins. I take 380 to I-30 to Sulpher Springs, I jigger over to hwy 11 to FM2869, it takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes to HLR going that route, its also less miles and less fuel. It may be faster going to 635 but hauling ass 75mph+ takes more fuel. I can make it on a 1/4 tank vs 1/2 a tank going your way.

You won't find a large lot in Collin county unless you go country, even then you should be prepared to spend way too much on a flat piece of ground.

I have once but it I ended up catching school traffic. I might give it another try sometime. I tend to enjoy finding a car to run block for me and follow behind going 85-90 down I-20

Call or text my wife, if you don't already have a realtor; she can give you quite a bit of info on houses/land available. Here's her info: Amy 972-765-4673

I'm in Wylie, and there are several options for land in this area as well as north of McKinney. Obviously, the further you drive, the cheaper it is, but you can find some decently priced acreage within a 30 minute or so drive.

Have not even moved yet and already got a number!

Let me ask this question a different way. Being in North Dallas is there an easier traffic commute from the north south east or west into the job? I am not living in middle of city and i am not driving an hour. You guys are making this an easy decision so far!

There's plenty of large lot homes east of 75, north of 190. Price is going to be high, but they are there. Other than that, you're going to have to continue going north.

I have a 22 mile one way to Grand Prarie from Mansfield and it is around 45 mins, unless there is a wreck. You want 4 acres outside the city, and dont want to drive? I want a tiny gold giraffe.

I do not know what you guys consider high price. To be vague, would be looking for a purchase 250K+

I currently live 25 miles from work and get there in around 23 minutes door to door. That is why i am asking, if can not make the 20-25 mile drive in under an hour, i am out.
