That's a shame. It stinks of fear and advocates an assault on our Constitution, not to mention murder of an innocent person (based purely on the facts given in your hypothetical situation).

Fuck terrorism, fuck living like a scared little bitch, and fuck trigger-happy cops looking for any excuse to shoot somebody.

A paid vacation, and if their brothers in arms can't cover it up, a possible career change.

It would ultimately be a matter for the courts as to whether that reaction would be murder. I doubt that most any cop who found themselves in such a situation would be glad they were there simply because it gave them the opportunity to shoot somebody. I certainly wouldn't be.

LOL. Always been. A lot of what I say is taken the wrong way. I just try to provide a different avenue of thought to open up the eyes and minds of those who love to hate. Most people think everything is cut and dry but this is a very dynamic world and hesitation can get you killed. This example, I just provided insight on the training LEOs receive reference distance and subjects with weapon (possible weapon). I even started out my statement with I'm not defending these LEO, but... I'm just try to provide a reason to why this may of happened, but in the end the guy was just standing there.

Along then with being suspect simply because of one's race (profiling) or for verbally touting radical Islam.

                  • When someone uses the phrase "I'm not saying..., but...", it almost always means they are.

Had someone say that to me about two months ago. I seriously doubt he has the balls to try it.

                      • based 100% off of the video and the fact that i wasnt there i dont think he was justified. i hope that their in squad video was running but very doubtful on a non-code3 call. there are many different things that could lead to why he felt the need for deadly force but none that i can really see come into play. could be past dealings with the mentally ill person. another could be what the guy was saying at the time. if the guy with a knife was saying if you dont kill me now im going to kill you then that would make a bit of difference too. i think their major fuck up was is the fact that they 1) got too close tactically 2) didnt exhaust all of their resources and 3) either intentionally or unintentionally lied on their statement. i know people are going to spout off about how could it have been unintentional but all recent studies of police shootings show that officers should wait until they have been evaluated by some type of councilor to make sure they are of sound mind. there are plenty of examples where two officers at the exact same incident see things completely different.

                        • would everyones view of this be different of the guy was holding a gun down at his side? exact same video but a gun instead of a knife?

He didn't have a knife in his hand. Freeze frame the video

And you're reaching really far with the saying that it depends on what he said. That's bullshit, and if you are carrying a badge and you get so scared over words that you shoot someone, you shouldn't be carrying a badge.

It was just a hypothesis, bro. He already said that based on just what we have now, he didn't think it was a good shoot.

No, because both of them LIED about the encounter in an attempt to cover it up.
