No I want to save $40 and get done close too home. Just had four tires put on the wifes lincoln and it took 18 mins. Done and out the door.

Mud tires can be mounted without the spoons. Just lube the bead and push those bitches on.

One guy doing four mount/balance in 20 min is pretty damn impressive. Usually takes 2-3 guys to knock it out that quick

See, 20 minutes! 3 guys, 20 minutes, 5 bucks a tire should do it. What do you mean that's an hours labor? It was only 20 minutes!

should be able to buy the spoons and bbs for less than $20. not nearly as hard as you might think. if you dont care about scratching the wheels just use long flat screwdrivers
This. I've done a set of 33"s in less than 30 minutes, and using the airsoft bbs they will never go out of balance. I rather do them myself than wait an hour at some random tire shop.

I've mounted/balanced way too many tires than I care to admit. I wish the machines were cheaper, as I hate throwing away money having some jackass do it that doesn't give a shit. My advice to you is to remove all of the wheel weights, tape, brake dust, etc on your wheels before you bring them to whatever tire place you choose. Get the back side of those wheels as clean as possible!

Ive got one of those HF manual tire changers...mounted hundreds of tires with it. Makes it very easy to do. Balance with beads.

That's what I'm thinking as well. If you want it done right and don't want wheels or anything else damaged I'd just take it to Discount. I've tried to save money taking it to some shops recommended to me by friends and have gotten burned a couple of times with stripped threads or getting my valves replaced with cheap rubber ones when I had the metal ones on there.

because they'll either leave them on and gouge your wheel or they'll leave them on and balance against them

I've got a little mom and pop shop I use for all my wheels and tires. They're really thorough and do exactly what I ask them to.

First set of 35" 20's I had them mount, they charged me $80. I paid cash and told them I didn't need a receipt.

                            Next set was $50.

                            Last set was $40

                            I'd be fine paying $80

Oh one thing I'd like to add about why I would take them to Discount Tire over a corner shop is that if anything happens like they scratch up your wheels, break or strip a stud, or pretty much anything; Discount will take care of that. Can't say that most corner shops will do that or care much about losing your business.
