I have a lot of the Dewalt 18v cordless line minus the radio, vacuum and specialty tools. I even have duplicates of a few. 5 chargers, 10+ batteries and I never have a problem with battery life. No air in my garage only hand tools, my DeWalts and a little bit of sorcery.

The little impact wrench/driver with the coupling head is fucking bad ass. I have two of them and keep one set up with the 1/4" adapter and the other with the 3/8". Those two tools and sockets can take my entire car apart minus the wheels and bell housing bolts (yes, I tried). I let their big ass 1/2" impact take care of the big stuff.

Out of all of our Electricians, Carpenters, Mechanics, HVAC guys etc, the DeWalt tool line is the only thing we issue them. This is a large scale mission here in rough environment with employees using government property that they beat the living shit out of without remorse. DeWalt holds up pretty well.

I need to invest in a good corded drill eventually though.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

I bought the Hitachi ion when it came out and use it in the shop daily without issue. Back when cordless stuff was new and everyone had the Makita 7.2 I came across a Hitachi cordless that I bought and used it in the shop for years. Finally retired it when the 18/19.2 stuff came out but it was still going strong. Dewalt is probably fine, seems like everyone uses it andI like being different.

My M18's are work horses. They have never let me down and I use them nearly every weekend around the house.

i used exclusively 18v dewalt in my line of work and my only complaint is the 90* drill being slightly flimsy when really getting on something, and the vacuum sucking the life out of the batteries QUICK. beyond that, great tool line.

I have the Milwaukee set. The 1/4" impact usually will not take out seat bolts without using a wrench to loosen them first. I wish that set came with 2 drills, 2 batteries, and no impact. Overall, I like the product. The batteries last a long time and charge quickly. I use the drill 99% of the time and I always keep the battery not in use charged so I can swap if needed. I think I have had the set for 3 years or so.

I went with the Dewalt set mainly due to price. Home Depot has it for $229 but saw it online at Lowes for $199. So went to Home Depot & had them price match it plus they beat it by 10%. Came out to $179 plus tax. I feel like it is a good deal.

I did a ton of research on this last year. What I got was the m18s are tied with the makitas green tools. Older dewalt stuff is great but the new stuff is junk.
