Nothing sucks worse than buying a car from auction and locking the door, only to realize that the fucking ignition cylinder has been changed and the key that fits the ignition doesn't fit the lock. Nothing like sitting in a wal mart parking lot trying to remove the quarter window with a screwdriver. Funny thing, only one person even noticed. Bought a slim jim kit after that.

I was a valet for a few years. I never leave keys in a car to this day without rolling a window down or leaving a door open.

make a rule that she can only lock the door with the keyless remote.
disable the door lock bottom on the door.

I started doing that when I started wrenching at a dealership, after one car that had an alarm locked me out when I closed the door.

            Quite so.

I keep a copy of her key in my car (gotta drive to rescue her) and at the house.

That happened to me on a Tahoe out at lakeside. Happened to several people actually.
