In case anyone cares, I ran with the 26 gallon version of this..

Bait Tanks, insulated, striper, shad, blue back herring, aerated, filtered, blue interior, rotomolded,

Talked with the owner, watched the videos and a lot of emails. It'll be a little while until I get it and can go out with it though.

It was 260 shipped for a 26 gallon. Compared with grayline at 650ish with local pickup for a 30 gallon oval, it seemed worth the risk.

The only downfall I can see is the in tank plumbing and 1 less pump. However, it's 400ish dollars cheaper - I think I can deal with it.

Yea man that's a heck of a difference. Do you mainly fish for striper and hyrbrids?

Striper and only striper right now. Like mentioned earlier though, I have not been out in awhile and it's killing me. I'm scheduled to knock out an exam next Tuesday, hopefully I pass so I can go out and get a fix/test the bait tank.

But yeah, basically I went on a guided trip for striper and got hooked. Then I ate a bunch of it and I've had little interest in other fishing. If having a bad day, I may use dead shad for catfish or do some trolling, but my reason for living (fishing wise) is striper. I suck at it, but have only been doing it for a few months and I suspect with lively bait my level of suck will decrease.

The only striper I have caught were with artificail baits. I use Strike King crankbait XD 6.5 and 10.5 and the Sexy Shad Spoon bait. They both work well. I have never fished Striper with live bait though. I found a guide that is charging 100 bucks at Lake Texoma but hesitated in going.

What is the guide's name? There are SEVERAL great ones, a lot of good ones and a few flops and a million I never heard of before. haha If you check out the Texas Fishing Forums there are some that people rave about, but to be honest I'm hesitant to use services that are raved about on local forums. Been disappointed more often than not.

What lake was that one that you caught them? This time a year lures are supposedly awesome, it's killing me not to go out. During the hot months, all the guides are catching with shad mostly. I go out earlier than they do since I'm slower, but in the one area I go there are probably 15 guides just there getting their bait. Cheaters too with at least 10'+ plus nets.

7' is the limit for TX, but I believe 10' is the limit for OK. Just looked that up, but either way I ain't turning the guides in. A majority of them do more good for the fishing on that lake than most others do.

Crap, know 10' is the limiit now - gonna have to buy a 10' net.

I started with 4' in the driveway, then 5' in driveway, then 7' in driveway...guess what'll happen with a 10'?

The best part is the bigger the net, the less clean of a throw it has to be. haha Although it would suck to throw a hot dog, since I'm guessing it takes 5 minutes to get ready to throw a 10' net.

I may on the 5 for sure. It's been used maybe 4 times, but technically is my buddy's. If I get the 10' (which maybe a bit since they seem to run about 150 dollars), I'll ditch it. I like to have 2 nets in case someone sees something I don't in the back of the boat, they can pitch one quick.

10' maybe a bit too much for a pontoon boat though without a casting deck. Need to think on it.
