I used Amsoil last change, usually Motorcraft like Talisman tho.

I see no reason not to use 87 octane, that is what it is tuned for, no reason to pay an extra 15 cents for a little more octane, unless it is tuned to take advantage of it.

I say exhaust, and be done with modding!
Actually, the computer adapts to what ever grade you put in. Higher octane = more performance.

I have 19"s and 20"s on my car looks great, Mine has Frpp k springs with frpp struts and shocks rides and handles great. If your going to do a sct tune might as well throw a cold air intake on it

Don't forget the adjustable pan hard rod if you lower it.

From what I've just been reading, it gains 10 HP for 91 octane vs 87, but nothing more going from 91 to 93.

Correct. Mine SEEMS to get a little better gas mileage as well. I haven't researched it at all, just what it seems.

MIne is lowered 1" using the Eibach Pro Kit and I can't tell a difference in ride quality over the stock springs. Going only 1" or so, you should not need the adjustable panhard bar (mine was still centered after lowering, as has every car I've helped with).

When it was still n/a, I ran a canned tune from VMP and made 410 at the wheels with only an axle back kit. I added BBK long tubes (do not recommend changing out the factory headers, they're quite efficient as is) and a JLT CAI (again, I think a K&N drop in filter in the stock box is plenty efficient, just don't like the looks of the stocker) and then had Travis at GH tune it on the dyno, and ended up a little over 435 at the wheels. Car ran 11.60's at 119 in this trim.

Just for comparisons sake, the car is now supercharged, makes 600 to the wheels, and on the last road trip to Ohio, she knocked down 31 mpg with the cruise set at 75.

Shifter selection is purely subjective. I run the Barton and the bracket, but honestly, just the Barton bracket, with the stock shifter, is plenty. DO NOT buy the Hurst unless you want a shit load of interior buzzing. Worst thing I've bought for the car. Ever.

For oil, I use Valvoline full synthetic, and have it done at a local shop. It's a $100 oil change, and I do it every other month the way I drive. Got tired of the local parts house never having rom for my discarded oil, so I let the shop do it now, easy, and don't have to cart around tanks of oil looking for a place to dump them now.

I just can't trust any shop to change my oil, especially since the EPAS electronics are right under the oil filter, I change my own and cover it with disposable rags. That and I'm not baller enough to spend $100.00 on an oil change. I pay right at $55.00 but I get 10 quarts of Mobil 1 and the FL500 filter is $5.00...

Still noticeably higher price and fewer options than 18's or 20's. Sucks because our factory wheels on the TL are 19's.

Steve's thread in the garage gets locked for lack of related content, yet this one full of garage-related material continues to proliferate in the BP, makes sense.

If you're going to enforce the "rules" guys, at least do it consistently.

                        Didn't replace shifter
                        Had Roush axle back exhaust
                        Resonators cut out
                        TSW wheels 20x8.5/20x10
Steeda Cold air intake with Steeda tune. Got 27 highway mpg with 3.73 gears.
                        Always ran 93 octane.
                        Get an oil seperator...

How does that not make sense? That other thread went off topic and got personal. This one is staying on topic and relevant.

You of all people should know how difficult it is to moderate these numb skulls.

I undid everything over there. There is no rule about posting tech in the back porch.

And as I said to Eric in that thread, there was no "you guys" involved in this. It was me and me alone. I have explained what and why I did what I did several different ways in that thread. If that still does not make sense, or you want to complain further, do everyone a favor and feel free to PM me directly.
