Pit bull fends off attempted home invasion in Old East Dallas
A Dallas man was saved by his pit bull Monday after a man armed with a pellet gun attempted to push his way into the victim’s Old East Dallas home.
The 31-year-old victim was in his home on the 4800 block of Gaston Avenue about 1 p.m. when he heard a knock at the door, according to a police report.
When he answered, the would-be robber began to shove his way into the victim’s home. When he resisted, the suspect pulled out a pellet gun and began shooting into the home.
Eventually the victim’s pit bull saw the struggle and attacked the intruder, biting him several times before the man fled.
A witness reported seeing the suspect join two other masked men and drive away in a blue Ford Fusion.
