  • Need a car shipped

I pulled a gas monkey while on Ebay late one night. I need a car shipped. Seems like I remember someone on the board that does that. The car is in Connecticut, and needs to be delivered to Princeton,tx. I'm fine with an open trailer, and the car is not running right now.

        I've got a U ship bid going now. It's a 65 Thunderbird.

In my experiences, Uship quotes are about 40-50% high. I've been using the broker State 2 State Auto Transport out of Florida. I've shipped 5 cars with them and not had any problems. Prices are more than reasonable and even cheaper than the people on this board that claimed they do/did this for a living.

What was the final price? Just curious. How much extra was it since it wasn't running?

I can't speak for the OP, but mine have not been an extra charge for non running condition.

I just booked it today, is it too late? And since it was not running it was $1,095.

It's hard for the small guy to compete for these long hauls.

Gas cost alone comes to ~$700 for me and my rig.
Add in 2 hotel stays and some food, then make a daily wage, it's easily $1000-$1200 haul.

The national haulers can make it work out if they can combine that haul with other hauls in the same run.

Yeah, the only way to make it work is if you could find someone needing something taken from Dallas(or surrounding area) to Connecticut(or surrounding area) so you aren't hauling an empty trailer one-way.
