I'd certainly disagree with the "almost all of your posts" portion of that statement. I really only latch on to something on here when someone's being an asshat.

Almost all lakes in the metro are for water supply and are managed by the army corps of engineers. Which means they dont allow private docks and boathouses as well as controlling how close personal property can be to the water line.

I've seen several homes at Eagle Mountain Lake on Zillow that have their own personal docks and boathouses. And a lot of them had property all the way to the water. I'm not sure where the actual property line is, but their yard is basically right up to the water line.

It seems like these lakefront homes are snatched up quick when they go on the market unless it's a p.o.s. or way overpriced.
