What I found interesting in the price slide, was that all my bids were losing out to people that were still bidding with high prices for properties, during the housing market decline.
I continued to follow the property listings and saw a couple that came back to the market after 2 months. The people that were bidding high prices were backing out of the closing.
Either because they realized their mistake or the bank wouldn't approve a loan for the high bids because properties were just not appraising in a declining market.

Soon after I started seeing the re-listings, properties were requiring letters of funding, high cash retainers, or simply all cash and fastest closing possible.

I lost about 10 property bids because of crazy high bids in a SLIDING MARKET, and at least 2 instances that were questionable and seemed to be some rigging involved.

That's cause they're lame. I've lived in like 4 states and numerous dwellings since finishing college, and i'm damn glad i never got stuck in fucking HEB texas. what a drag that would have been!

I think his point is that the fish got low balled, fucked in the catfish asshole and you paid half price. The worst part was the fish explaining to his fish friends why his asshole smelled like redneck

35 when I started building, 36 when I moved in. Still in it.

I had the "don't want to be tied down" mentality for years.

I'm 36, and apartment living has suited me just fine until the last year or so. I actually started really thinking about it when I took the new job out here in CA back in 2009, but housing in San Diego is outrageous, as in 2-3 times more than an equivalent house in North Texas, which really put a damper on those plans given my salary at the time.

The cost of living in Sacramento where I'm at now is still higher than back home, but a lot more palatable. I've now got a bit more job security, and being that the housing market here is beginning to get back on the up-swing, it's time to bite the bullet, so I'm looking to be buying early next year.

Cliff notes: I'm a late bloomer apparently.

I/we have bought several since then, and have owned as many as 3 at a time, but are down to one nice one, and plan to stay here quite a while.

                              We'll see.

20, no had to short sell it. I bought (not knowing better) at the peak of the housing bubble and 6 months after I bought the bubble burst. Had the house on the market over a year but due to leaving the military and relocating back to DFW I had to ditch it.
