I'm pretty sure most concealed weapons are carried on the hip too .

Is it considered open carry if it's concealed?

Yes. Concealed I think is a key word here.

There's really no difference in making a request and a demand when it comes to a company. All they have to do is tell the cops that they've made a public request for anyone with a firearm on their person to not be on property whenever they feel they have a problem or whenever a customer complains.

We need another rally to show Starbucks who we gun owners really are. Bring more attention to us in the news.

If they are only requesting people to do this and do not follow up with posting proper signage then I wouldn't be the least bit concerned about their "request". Keep in mind that most companies already reserve the right to refuse service or ask you to leave for any reason, so carrying is no different, IMHO.

It's a logical assumption to make, but it doesn't bear out in real life. The states that open carry do not have a rash of open carriers dying by criminal hands because they were open carrying.

Until there is evidence to back it up I'd like to have the option to open carry. This would allow me to have on me what I am most comfortable with, my p226, instead of a hodgepodge of an xds or an lc380 depending on how I dress at the time.

Exactly, without the proper 30.06 signage, who cares. I will still have my weapon on me if I go there.

It could be because there aren't a whole lot of those who do. VA is an open carry state and in the 13 years I've been here I have not seen one person do it. As far as your weapon of choice is concerned, that sounds like a personal issue. I have no problems conceal carrying full frame or compact guns. LOL, and how is an XDS hodgepodge?

Starbucks lost what little business they had from me years ago when they outright refused to support our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan because starbucks didn't support the war...Fuck Starbucks!
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776
