  • His mental issues should have come up in his clearance review or anyone of his coworkers (past or present) that knew about it should have reported them to DSS.

I work with a dude that is paranoid beyond belief but it is not the same hearing voices shit. If he went that far, damn right I am reporting it to our FSO and to DSS. DSS takes that shit serious just like if the guy had a drug or gambling problem.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

What's this "my man" crap? What's the common bond here? Two economically disenfranchised black men, held back by Whitey?

Well, with your side's knee jerk reaction to always call the shooter a tea party member, it has become relevant to know that every mass shooter since the one in Arizona has been a leftist, and has been misreported as a tea party member in the media unti lthe truth came out.

          So that's how it's relevant.

It really is a black thing, you wouldn't understand.

            • So this guy removed the barrel from his 870 to walk it in to the naval yard. Democrats are now calling to ban guns that "disassemble or have parts."

Don't you wish some of these idiots would walk into a gun store and actually try to learn about what they profess to know?

If they learned about them, they wouldn't fear them, and hence would be less effective at banning them. This is all about ignorance.

So, here is the problem to me in SOME cases. It's piss poor security.

Just like the TSA, I'd rather have no security and the ability to defend myself than poor security. If you're going to have security, do it right or don't do it at all.

We'd never stand for real security at the airports, so they give the illusion of security. However, on a military base you can have real security. It's just important for people to not get complacent and/or get to know people and get relaxed with them.

Although as I understand it, dude should not have been on base to begin with.

Curious how it is now. After 9/11 we went through a phase where clearances got uberstrict. So to keep manpower around they let people do certain jobs that technically required a clearance, but they did not see/touch classified stuff. They allowed that based off a (can't remember the term, but where basically a preliminary check was done, but the full investigation was not completed)...and then they could do the full job when fully cleared or they were sent home if it failed. Is it still like that or are they relaxed again?

I hated it. If you were cleared your job tripled and they were getting paid the same to do very little. Almost easier without them there or give cleared people a percentage of their pay until they got cleared.

This happened until around around 2005 or so that I noticed. This was in BiH, OIF and OEF.

They could have had an interim secret. It just means that DSS and NACI confirm you submitted a packet without glaring alarms being set off. Now with an interim you can still access classified secret it just means your clearance is not a final secret. I received my interim 30 days after submitting my packet and went to a final 30 days after that. The process is extremely expensive. Rumored to be upwards of $40,000 for a secret. That is why having a clearance, active or inactive is attractive to employers. But if you are working a contract, the company foots the bill and is reimbursed by the government on what ever the contract states the cost plus is. 2 years ago my current employer went in and cut out 75% of our cleared folks.....basically made their clearances inactive. Didn't save money but limited our potential liability for spillage etc.

Wait till they learn how short a AR15 is broken down. They will make non removable front pivot pins instead of take down pins mandatory. lol fuck off, I has SBR and shit plus 20 other lowers/ARs.

Interim, that's right. What was going on though is the on-site contract officer wanted to be stricter on the matter and he made those rules. Basically the SoW said -cleared- employees but they were hard to come by.

So my company and him butted heads, but at the end of the day he can make it more strict and our contract said specifically cleared employees. We lost a fair amount after they were fully checked. Nothing heinous, mainly credit problems. It was IT work after the IT bust, so a lot of people got crap credit due to missed payments. One of them was a good buddy of mine.

Navy Yard Shooting: Capitol Police tactical team called back to Hill

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- WUSA9 has learned that a Capitol Police tactical team was prepared to enter the Navy Yard to stop Aaron Alexis -- and was ordered back to the Capitol by a watch commander.

The team was in contact with Metropolitan Police, who were pleading for help, but was turned around by a Capitol Police inspector.

Two MPD officers went in without the team, and one of the officers was shot.

Capitol Police just issued a statement saying:

"The USCP offered and provided mutual support and assistance at the Washington Navy Yard on Monday. Chief Kim Dine has opened a preliminary investigation into the allegations presented."

Members of the team are furious. They are convinced they could have saved lives.

The Capitol Police CERT team is based just a few blocks from the Navy Yard. A law enforcement source says they were less than 30 seconds from the gate when the initial call went out for an active shooter.

One angry officer tells WUSA9 that the Capitol Police chief calls them "America's Police Force." But he says the watch commander "wouldn't let them go in and stop people from being slaughtered."
"It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself."
