  • Been trying quite a few craft beers lately from our new HEB out here.

And i have to say, I'm just not impressed. Except for Sol, most of em seem to be kinda nasty. Get a lot of bitter beer face trying craft beer

    • Wife stopped by JK on a trip down to Austin recently. Told her to grab one of everything and was duly rewarded, Petit Prince aside. Those are all full size bombers, by the way, the Equipoise is just fucking huge.

All one brand name? As in:

          "Revolver blood and honey"

          and then

          "Bock" as a separate beer?

Or "Revolver" , "Blood and honey" and "Bock"

This. Both are far from bitter. Very tasty and drinkable. Bock has lots of cinnamon/ brown sugar/ toffee. great.

Can it be found at albertsons, kroger, HEB, or walmart? That's all I've got for many miles.

Yes, Blood and Honey is one of the most popular Texas beers now. Even Walmart is stocking it in most locations. If you like Sol though you probably won't like it at all. Sol is a Mexican Lager, which is actually lighter in body than a normal American Lager.

I'd recommend starting with a blonde from any of the local breweries. It'll be a little thicker, not as carbonated but will have considerably more malt flavor and possibly a higher alcohol content. If you like it then try an amber, if you like those try a lighter IPA like Deep Ellum's or Stormcloud. If you don't like the IPA try an Imperial Pilsner. If you don't like that then try an Octoberfest beer. If you don't like that then you should probably stick with pale lagers.

Did you really call Sol a craft beer?

To add to this, mix equal parts Rahr Blonde, and Rahr Red, it is delicious, and very easy to drink.

                        • It's been a good Wednesday.

If you're in the Woodlands area check out Local Pour.
                          Ballast Point Sculpin IPA

And also I finally discovered the bar at Whole Foods. Got some Odell Myrcenary Double IPA on tap.

And damn, I love the home office.
St Arnold - Fancy Lawnmower in canned 6 pk.

It's days like this that I'm amazed I managed to lose 20 lbs recently.

I love spicy food and I love beer, but the habanero sculpin took the fun out of drinking.

                              • I've only had it at a Beerfeast event and didn't think it was too bad but batches vary. It had nothing on Twisted Pine's Ghost Face Killah though, I couldn't handle more than a sip of it. I made a batch of chili with the rest and it was hard to eat.
