I was at Lakewood back in January and had their Mango Habanero from the cask. Coming from someone who loves hot things, I just can't get behind that venture. An effort that just didn't work for me. It wasn't so much as hot as just not pairing well with any of us who sampled it.

That's where I'm headed next. It was a no go at Walmart and albertsons. I would like to ask which "Bock" he was talking about, because while at albertsons, I saw probably 4 different beers with the word "Bock" on them. I know little about beer, always just drank miller light. But my taste has changed, and I'm looking for something tastier these days. I like the sound of caramel and brown sugar and toffee beers as he described.WH

Waco will have a brewery open this weekend. Bare Arms Brewing is opening their doors Friday at 4 and again Saturday. I've never had any of their beers but it's quite a feat to do anything alcohol related in Waco.
As for actual beers tasted the wife and I headed to Jester King this weekend. I normally don't like wheat bears but Foudreweizen was great, it's Live Oak's Hefe but fermented and aged by Jester King. Pretty dang good.
I picked up a bomber of Boxer's Revenge, Funk Metal and Hibernal Dichotomous. All great beers and in the case of Boxer's Revenge it hides the 10.8% abv very well!

Go to their patio on Saturday's 12-4, $10 for 3 top notch beer and collectible pint glass. Absolutely first class guys and product, they are about to explode soon.
One-of-a-kind Bourbon & Rye Whiskeys. Using signature malted grains, each expression is crafted from a different recipe and enters the barrel at a lower proof to preserve flavor. Then matured in toasted & charred barrels - harvested in small batches of no more than 15 barrels at a time to yield a flavor like no other.
