    • Assuming the cork stays sealed it should last for several years. That beer is pasteurized and filtered though so it really won't get better with any kind of aging, eventually in 5+ years it'll be a dud. 6 months is nothing though, go to town.

      • Alright gents, I'm back at it. Picked up a lagunitas little sumpin extra, Hofbräu dunkel, green flash double stout, 4 corners block party, Alaskan pumpkin porter, Franconia punkel, franconia Oktoberfest, and a new Belgium pumpkick

        • Haven't tried the Punkel yet but it gets some good reviews. Rahr's Visionary is pumpkin this year and it's on par with any of the others I've had minus Rumpkin (shouldn't really be in the same category since it's $$$$$$$$).

I was bored yesterday and decided to hit up Austin Beerworks for a visit. It's hidden in an industrial complex with absolutely no signage. Very small, very casual and good beer. They hand out custom tokens for beer samples and you can buy more after the first 3.

It's smaller than Martin House, which is awesome seeing as how popular they are outside of their home market. That and how they made national news a few weeks ago with their 99 pack.

          • Punkel was great last year. Grabbed some last week and I swear it's not the same. I've tried 3 of them and this last one I took two pulls and handed the rest to the wife. I feel like it's missing a ton of the spice it had last year.
I've been buying new shit like crazy the past month, just too lazy/busy to post. The latest thing to knock my socks of was a Dubhe Imperial Black IPA and Smuttynose Robust Porter. Both are very good.

            • I just cracked the punkel, it has a fair bit of spice, nutmeg comes through, I'm going to let it warm up a bit before my next gulp

              • From what I've heard the barrel aged Whole Hog from Stevens Point is the one to look for. It's a pumpkin barley wine. I know the Bird Cafe and FW Saucer had it for a while.

                • Not sure if it's been brought up but Malka is available in the US now and I absolutely love their Keha (dry Irish stout). It's my new favorite readily available beer. It's extremely dark, has a nice roasted coffee flavor, plenty of bitterness but no weird pine or grassy hop flavors. It's a smooth, very dark and delicious beer.

You've probably seen the bottles, they are black with white Hebrew lettering. Worth a try!

                            • I picked up a 4 pack of Brew Dog's Hardcore IPA, a bottle of their Tokyo, two bottles of Avery's Beast and a bomber of Clown Shoes The Good, The Bad and The Unidragon. I've only gone through the IPA so far and it's obviously outstanding.

Btw if anyone is looking for these Specs in Temple had probably 10 bottles of the Beast left and 14-15 bottles of Tokyo. I was hoping for some bottles of Rumpkin but no luck here yet.
