Keep it and fix up the few minor things it needs done. I love the G35 Coupe (my dad has owned 2 of them) and they are fantastic cars. For the money...even used they are some of the best all around affordable luxury sport coupes around.

Keep it. I have an 04 Chrysler pacifica needed tires and an ac compressor and a blower motor. Actually was at the dealership buying a yukon and realized my car is super clean paid off and been in the family since new. Im gonna have to buy tires on whatever I drive and ac problems happen on anything. So backed out of yukon deal they were offering $2500 on my 120k pacifica and fixed the ac, bought tires and to make it seem newer replaced the stereo added a sub and new speakers and got darker tint. Fell in love with my paid off car all over again and while its not my dream car it runs drives and im out less than my down payment and not stuck paying $380 a month for the next 5 years. A car when I buy it for a daily isnt to expect any value out of it and could care less about that. A car is not an asset and would rather save for retirement, my kids college in 15 years and a new house over a new daily.

I trade in my cars every 3-4 years, not matter the condition and most of the time they need trading in. Shit starts to break and most times its shit that's not cheap or worth fixing. Like my Volvo for instance, I took it for a FWA since it was wearing the tires on the inside, I buy a new set of tires take it in for a $79.00 FWA only to find out I need $700.00 worth of suspension stuff. Fuck that I just spent almost that much on tires, it just wasn't worth it. Lucky for me, I forgot I bought an extended warranty so it all got fixed for free and the FWA was only $50.00. I traded that fucker in a few months later before something else broke. Having a new car (the right new car) and paying for it, is worth its weight in gold to me.

Hope you never have to replace the air shocks in the back. especially if its some weird trim . Never seen shocks that expensive.

Yeah what he said. I haven't washed mine in 3 years. Paint is chipped away on the hood and roof. I just need a new exhaust system and then suspension work.

Fix it. Other than paint it sounds like something you can do in a weekend yourself. My civic isn't much to look at and over 200k on the clock but I damned if she don't start every time. Tiny is here to stay.

Blake, $2000.00 is what? 4 months worth of car payments now days? If you like the car, that money is much cheaper than a new car. The best car you can own is a paid off car.

I say fix it and roll that thing for a couple of years

A real manly man would get rid of that shit box and drive the Fastback daily....

Fuck it, who am I to talk, I drive a Honda Civic every day.

Get rid of it. Depending on the shape of all the paint, whether it can be blended or painting the whole thing it would be at least 4K if not more. Buy something else that is newer and the sentiment for the old car will diminish quickly.

When I added up that I had spent 3k in work on my 99 vert last year in 6 months, and it left me stranded twice, I decided it was time to pull the trigger on something new. Of course, I never was overly in love with that car; it was a means to an end at the time I bought it. That said, it had about 140k on it, and I wasn't sure how long it would be before it needed something again. A car at that age will almost always need "something." For a daily driver, I felt it was time to move on.

Do car payments suck? Fuck yes. Does being in your late 30's, stranded on the side of the road while you're trying to get to work in some old pile suck worse? That's up to you to decide. Every time I walk into my garage and get in the drivers seat and wrap my right hand around that 6 speed shifter knob, I get a huge grin on my face.
