Lol @ the jeep suggestions. Jeeps are cool enough, but I like the combo of comfy and handling.

I would keep it. I'm sure if you went to a G specific forum and watched the classifieds, you could find good deals on suspension upgrades. You can likely find better than Maaco quality paint for a similar lrice if you shop around.

    Or buy a jeep

Fix it unless you have some chooo$$ set aside to pay a new car off quickly.

Keep it. Clean examples of older cars always do more for me than some new car.

i would go plastidip. maaco would be an option if you did all the prep work but at that point you could have already plastidipped it a couple times
Yeah, lowers it a little over half an inch. I've definitely had my fill of prep for paint, I'm outta that business. I'd probably hire out the plastidip if I went that way because it's so cheap.

I'm actually considering plastidip. It's cheap and easy and I like the look. I'm just wondering if a cheapie Maaco job would be better? Still not sure on that one, which is motivating the fix/replace question.

That's true. Dollars to dollars, fixing is less invested. Thing is, there is a point of diminishing returns on resale. I could easily spend more than its worth and end up with a nice, pretty much worthless 200k mile car.

I pondered jumping into a car payment over not wanting to deal with the 1k in parts plus labor for my fuel pump............for about 5 minutes. I do not miss having a car payment and as much as I like the VW's I like money in my bank account a lot more.
