But again with me not knowing anything, I've been weary of doing much (anything).

Currently I have it all in the target 2050 fund. He suggested I check out Fidelity's Growth Fund, and the Small Cap Value Fund. I'm kind of at a loss and would like some insight. Any worthwhile info is appreciated.
Based on what you are describing, you're at Square 1 when it comes to investing. A Target Retirement fund is probably the best instrument out there for someone who has zero knowledge about investing. Before you blindly follow the director in your group, understand the basics first.

      ... and many more.

There's a shit ton of information out there on 401Ks, investing, saving so you'll have money for strippers and blow when you're too old to work, etc.

But what if I want to go beyond strippers and blow? Like say, my own island and some eastern bloc hookers? Is there a fund for that?

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.
