That all comes later once private healthcare no longer exists.

Was talking to my back specialist who has a MIL in Denmark with back problems. They have 1 MRI machine in the entire country, and almost never use it, because no one is approved. She said the wealthy have good healthcare because they buy it. Her MIL was SOL on getting her back treated, they told her only surgery was covered. She came over here multiple times and got it fixed up fine without surgery. And this is where we are headed.

Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

Lenina Huxley: Ah, smoking is not good for you, and it's been deemed that anything not good for you is bad; hence, illegal. Alcohol, caffeine, contact sports, meat...

John Spartan: Are you shitting me?

Moral Statute Machine: John Spartan, you are fined one credit for a violation of the Verbal Morality Statute.

John Spartan: What the hell is that?

Lenina Huxley: Bad language, chocolate, gasoline, uneducational toys and anything spicy. Abortion is also illegal, but then again so is pregnancy if you don't have a licence.

My job offers a discount on insurance premiums if you don't use nicotine, and they test for it. I'm fine with that. Making it a condition for employment is absurd.

What if they banned alcohol use? Slippery slope.

Not really, but have you ever seen a fat person working at any of their stores?

Hospitals started doing this years ago. It all has to do with insurance premiums. The company has to pay more for insurance for a smoker than a non-smoker, so I can see their point. But if the person is willing to pay the extra premium theirselves then I think that should be an option.

Considering obesity is now considered a disease/disability, I'm surprised the ADA hasn't sued them yet.

The city I work for has a requirement that if you smoke you go through a class to try and stop or pay a $15.00 month fee. They don't do random nicotine tests but do random drug and alcohol tests though.
