Go to the right doctor, ICL is just a contact behind the cornea so you should see just as well. Beats the heck out of wearing glasses or messing with contact solution every day.

A guy I used to work with had really bad cataracts, so they smashed up the old lens in his eye, sucked it out, then inserted a needle with the new lens (rolled up in the needle) and injected the new lens. He said he could see EVERYTHING. The thing they used to smash his old lens, the needle, the contact unrolling in his eye....sounds weird.

My wife went in this morning and she is not a candidate for Lasik with her 20/850 vision. They want her to do the ICL. Of course double the price but if it improves her quality of life from 20/850 I am all for it.

Silverranger, how is yours now that it has been 9 months?

Ratt, did you ever do it?

              Elvis, sorry about your IBS.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

Not sure how I missed this thread. I'm very interested in updates of how well this has worked out for all who have had it. I'm very nearsighted also. My doctor has been monitoring me for years saying it wasn't time for IOL yet but this last checkup he told me that it is getting close to that time. Just thinking about this surgery scares the Hell out of me.

My dad had IOL maybe 6 years ago. Hasn't had an issue with it.

                        Thread resurrection.

How are y'all that have had the procedure done holding up? I've finally decided that I'm tired of living with glasses and contacts and have set up an appointment to go see if I'm a candidate for LASIK or IOL. It's on the 13th, and if I'm a candidate, I'm pretty committed to doing it, regardless of what the cost will be, within reason. I'm not gonna go spend 10-15k on vision correction surgery.

Mine is still great but after pregnancy my wife now needs glasses when driving. She said she would do it again since she was legally blind to start with.
