    Sweeeeeet!!!

I just got back from San Diego! The locals were complaining about the heat and humidity!
I was all over the county, went as far as Borrego Springs, right after the "monsoon"

Beautiful place to have an Ultralight!

Yeah it is. It's the hottest it's been since I got here in March. Still nothing compared to back home though.

KBS. I had to leave my AR back home with my dad cause every rifle I owned (even my M-N M44) is illegal out here. I only brought my G17

Pretty cool man. What do you have to do to take one of those up as far as the government is concerned?

That is awesome, I was actually looking into the powered parachutes after seeing some really cool videos a guy posted where he flies into remote spots and camps out.

When we used to fly R/C planes out at the old Shiloh Airport runway in far east Plano (SE of Renner and Shiloh Rd.) in the 80's, there were a few of those planes out there all the time. They are my kind of airplane ....slow and somewhat low!

                  Thanks for your videos!

I started off at pro flight at hicks field in Saginaw then moved down to Huffman aviation at Spinks. I highly recommend Huffman. The owner and chief instructor is former Air Force and a hell of an instructor. Tell him Josh Downs sent you if you go down there. One of the guys that instructs there part time is a current F-16 pilot and instructs when he is home on leave. He was part of the Air Force academy demo team when he was there for school.

Nothing as long as it complies with FAR Part 103 regulations. The part 103 also lays out restrictions such as type of airspace you are allowed in and stuff like that.

You could theoretically buy one and teach yourself how to fly it if you had access to a ranch or something where you would have a large landing and take off area.

I would strongly suggest at least getting some private instruction though before you attempted this. Enough to learn how to land properly and whatnot and you can self teach how to read aeronautical charts and stuff.

And keep in mind ultralights fly differently than your typical Cessna. Ultralights are much lighter and have more drag so they usually bleed off speed very quickly in an engine out situation.

By bleed off do you mean coast?! Or plummet like a rock. Either way that looks like a heck of a rush!!!!!!

They glide nicely. It's just like any other plane you need to setup for a good descent that keeps some airspeed up for the landing.

I'd do a 40-50 mph glide on mine all the way to touchdown.

I thought that might be the case based on your Whitney comment. I got my PPL, Inst and am currently working on my Comm at Huffman right now. Excellent place.

I consider Spencer a friend. He finally finished all his training and is now stationed in Korea. Lucky bastard.

We probably met at one point in time while I was there for training. I trained with them the last half of last year.

We definitely saw each other then. Especially if you're a Marine. I was always referred to as "the Navy guy." LOL small world.
