  • What tire do you prefer? (18" on a pickup truck)

Need to replace some factory 18" tires on a gmc half ton. What tires (those with trucks and SUVs) do you like most? I've heard good things lately about Cooper AT and the Duratracs. I've always run the BFG all terrains myself but looking to try something different if the price is right. 90% highway, 10% Offroad is my use currently fwiw.

I prefer BFGs AT, but have Good Years on it right now and are some of the best wearing tires I've ever had. I'll check what kind they are when I get back to the yard, but they are more of a radial than AT.

Michelin AT2's. I got 90k out of mine on an F-350, hauling.

I tell ya I was on a tight budget but listened to everyone here when they said get Michelins for my truck. Glad I spent the little extra because they rock! Quiet, good grip and I have 27k on them yet they still look brand new. Love the Michelins.

They are mainly highway tread, but the Michelin LTX AT2 hold up really well.

Toyo Open Country on my F250. I had the All Terrains and then went with Mud Terrains when it was time for new ones. I'll probably go back with ATs again when it's time, just because I don't offroad much, and the ATs performed fine when I did. I got about 35k miles out of the ATs but they weren't bald by any means when I switched them. I've put almost 15k on the MTs and they still have at least half the tread depth from new. The MTs wander a little, but not real bad.

I did have a random flat on one of the MTs while coming home from a camping trip. By the time I noticed it, the tire was ruined. Discount prorated it under warranty (not something I paid any extra for) and it cost me less than $100 for a new one. Since it was trashed, I never knew what caused the flat. No visible punctures. This same tire had gone on a road trip to CO and back and through miles of crazy terrain and sharp rocks with no problems. Go figure.

We put Nitto Terra Grappler (All Terrains) on our 4Runner about 6 months ago, and they're great so far. Too early to tell how long they will last.

Michelins or Pirelli scorpion zero are what's on my truck and still have 3/4 of tread. I bought them a year and a half ago. Smooth ride to.

I have a set I just pulled off my 2013 2500. Goodyear...I'll take 600 for tires and wheels. 2300 miles on them.

Michelin LTX \thread. They are expensive, but they are so worth it.

This is no shit. I put a set of these on my truck after the shitty Firestone's that were on it and it was a world of difference in ride quality. btw - I played NTB against Discount Tire and wound up getting them from DT at $960 out the door with a $100 gift card in the mail... these were for 20's on an F150

I've Run Toyo A/T and M/T, Nitto T/Gs, BFG All Terrains, and Older BFG Mud terrains and GoodYear Mud terrains with success..

Obviously any of the Michelin tires are going to be great highway but less aggressive off road wise than what I usually run.

Saying that, I've had a few sets of Toyo and Nitto All Terrains that made it to 45-50k on heavy, well-abused trucks.

Just put Toyo AT2's on my truck. Don't have any miles on them yet, but they run quiet. I went on the recommendation of several folks who've had good luck with them. They sure look good, we'll see how long they last.

Another vote for michelins thats all I run on my trucks and never get anything less than 70k miles out of them. Just put on some ms2's on the excursion at a 265 75 16E $820 out the door.

Def the Michelin's. They are expensive but sturdy as hell. There on both my 97 f150 and 99 exploder.
