My wife loves Chris Young and he's performing there in October. Our anniversary is coming up and I know she'd like to go but I have no clue about this place.

What do you want to know about it? It's a huge honky tonk bar type place. Usually has reserved seating for most concerts which takes up most of the concert part of the building. Gen admission gets to have the areas on both sides of the seating area to stand and watch the show.
There are bars all along both sides of the concert area, along with bars all throughout the main area. There's a BBQ/concessions area. A dance floor. Some pool tables. A gift shop. They have bull riding on weekend nights in the rodeo arena attached to the building. Parking is $5 across the street or $10 for valet. Concerts usually start around 10pm and the place can get very crowded if it's a popular singer so I'd buy tickets ahead of time and not have to wait in the long ass line at the front doors.--Marcus

If you go get reserved tickets. GA will be so packed it won't be worth it. The bars in the reserved area don't usually get too crowded since they have waitresses in there as well. Don't wait on the waitress for drinks, go to the bar yourself.07 f250-family truckster

I typically hate it there, mainly because I enjoy to dance and like bobbles said all the damn yuppies there that can't dance are in the way. They are the biggest bar around and have a tiny tiny dance floor.
That being said I went last Friday to see Kyle Park and it was t very crowded, had a pretty decen time. So I guess it depends on the venue, like everywhere.
Also JRB is right down the road so there tends to be a few rowdy service members in there every time we go.

My wife interned with his sound engineer, hopefully we'll get the hookup! As for Billy Bob's yes it's touristy but their concerts are usually pretty good. The seating arrangement sucks though, especially if you end up sitting next to a manbeast. Also lots of obstructed views so pay attention when you order. The sound is usually great though and their a/c works awesome! I went to Gruene Hall last month and it's hotter in there than outside.

I love it! Always have a great time. It's not the best at anything, but it's got a lot. Plus where else can you catch some live bull riding before a show.
But apparently of you're stuck up you'll hate it because other people are allowed to enjoy it as well.

It's a huge tourist attraction as mention (which I'd be considered a tourist really). I don't avoid it, but it's not on my list of favorite places either. The pool tables are nice and if I remember right they have shuffle board too.Originally posted by MR EDDU defend him who use's racial slurs like hes drinking water.

I've been to see him every time he's played here the last few years and it attracts old women and kids at this particular show. However, since he's been played on the radio so much lately it may turn into another one that attracts the same crowds as Eli Young Band and such...which sucks.
It is full of tourists and I swear some people show up in the afternoon to grab a seat. They've started focusing on a lot of "pop/rap" before concerts to fit in the with the crowds they're attracting. Especially when Eli Young Band, CDB, etc play. I will say in my *personal* experience I have yet to see a bar fight go down in the place despite some of the stupidity that takes place.
