  • Looking into getting LASIK, who are the go to Dr's?

Trying to get some ideas on real world pricing and experience with all the local eye Dr's. I'm sick of spending $400/yr on contacts and I simply cannot use glasses in my work environment. Im sick of getting the headaches from straining my eyes to see anything further than 6ft.
I believe I do have astigmatism to boot so I've heard mixed info on this as far as it disqualifying me from being able to have LASIK.
One final note I would really like to pay it out on payments, do they do that? If not I guess I'll fork out the full payment.
Any helpful comments are greatly appreciated.

I went Kleiman Evangelista & had an astigmatism. The drs were great, surgery easy, recovery quick. You can pay it out using Care Credit.
I had been to have evaluations in the past, but my eyes were so bad I had to wait for the technology to get good enough. Lol
    Best money I ever spent!

Awesome great info exactly what I'm looking for. I'm the same way looks like they can pretty much take care of any problem you might now. Mind me asking the ballpark on what you ended paying.

Same here. I had the surgery a couple of years ago. I was told that my eyesight was approximately 20:30,000 (the scale doesn't go that high, but just to put it into perspective). I couldn't see the large E at the top of the visual acuity chart.

Also went to Kleiman about ten years ago. No issues until recently, my right eye has very slightly deteriorated. Should probably go in and have it checked out, but it's still really close to perfect. I only noticed it a month or two ago. Best money I have spent on ANYTHING in my life. I was -4.75 before; couldn't see shit.

How much does lasik surgery cost? I am also tired of spending 3-400 bucks on contacts and glasses. Not just that but I feel my eyes are tired of the contacts already. I wear them for a day and my eyes get really dry and itchy.

I just got mine done a month ago down here in Houston At Joffe Medical Center for $2140. I like others had bad astigmatism and couldn't even read the big E. I now see borderline 20/10.

I used tylock last month and it was well worth it. They were great, and it went very smoothly.

I used Kleiman Evangalista as well. I had a groupon for 1400 off so I was out the door for 2300 with a 2 year warranty. You can chose to pay it out over 2 years with no interest through care credit. They usually do the groupon once a quarter.
I had astimigutism and they didn't have any issues working with it.

I had this done 3 years ago and I still have 20/100

I think it was about 3k with interest free financing.

I used KeyWhitman as well, but I did a Groupon through them that did both eyes PLUS lifetime warranty for $2500.

I love lasik, best thing I have ever spent money on. I had PRK though, which is much more painful but well worth it.

I have about a years worth of Restasis if anyone has chronic dry eyes and is about to get Lasik. Turns out I used about 2 weeks worth and my eyes responded fast so I have no need for them. I believe they are about $900 for the supply without insurance.

I had Carter almost ten years ago. When I went for my eye exam about 8 months ago I was told I could see things at around 30 feet most people can see at 20. They did my right eye stronger then my left so no problems reading. The first couple of years I noticed it at the movies but now I don't. Hands down the best money I ever spent.

My eye doctor wears glasses.....this has always caused me to tap the brakes on lasik.
