I will say whatever you get, make sure it's loaded the fuck out. You pay for them on the front end, but they're a lot easier to get rid of and you obviously enjoy them more while you're in the seat

I'm on my second 6.7L Powerstroke without any complaints. We also have 5 duramaxs at work and they don't start having isssues until around 160k, so really I don't think you can go wrong either way just get the one you like the best. I would keep in mind that the GM 2500s will be changing body style for 15 and those will be hitting the street next year so it may be detrimental to the resale value on a 13 or 14. I test drove a 1500 with the new interior and it was much nicer than the old style with lost of amenities that Ford and Dodge already have like usb and 120v ports.
