I say "lan-cast-er", with all 3 syllables pronounced heavily and somewhat drawn out. I hear some say "lank" and then a quick "ister", but that just sounds wrong.


I got another one for you: Rio Vista. All the old folks I know in that area say "rye-oh viss-ta". I reckon the technically correct (Hispanic) pronunciation would be "ree-oh vee-sta".

You know what's funny, when stating my name for someone, I have to say it that way, otherwise they don't understand me.
