  • Police question (Hit and run thing)

A coworker and I were out picking up a car for work and witnessed a hit and run. The guy left the scene and we chased him and called it in.. the dispatcher told us to stay on him and give details and we did for about 25mins. He finally lost us in a neighborhood.

Anyways after we got off the phone we found out he was caught and arrested. Im just wondering is there a way to find out what he is being charged with? We chased him through Mansfield, Arlington and Grand Prairie. but Im not sure where he was caught or charged.
I have the make of the car and LP # if that would help look it up.

If you knew his name you could call the jail and they'll tell you.

Yeah I guess I can just pull his LP info and see if his name is on it.

The police officer we talked to said He seemed like he may have been on something and was being charged with something bigger because the little boys had to be taken in the ambulance.

which department took control of him, most of the time you can look it up online by which jail he is in.

The city in which the accident occurred in should have the jurisdiction to arrest him, regardless of where he was caught. Call the records dept and ask who the detective assigned to it is, he'll be able to tell you and get any witness statements from you.

just because they left in an ambulance doesnt mean they were hurt. the mother probably just wanted them to be "checked out"

Good on you helping get that asshole arrested. Good samaritan stories need more publicity than they get.

I saw a hit and run Christmas day on 287 north of Ennis. The guy actually hit a woman while they were doing highway speeds and she went off the road. He went into the center median, regained control and kept driving like nothing happened. EPD caught up to him and he told them he wasn't involved in an accident.

The paint transfer on his Dodge 1500 said otherwise....

                              Good job OP.
