Plate look up please might be impossible

Can someone possibly look up this old plate. Its a 1953 Chevy truck. I bought the truck from a guy that had the title but his house burned down. I saw what was left of his house nothing but a slab. I need to see if i can find the old owner to file for a lost title. The Vin is only like 8 characters so that a no go on VSVIN
