Sorry. To clarify, I meant that getting a DL revoked doesn't stop most people from driving.

5-10 seconds as mentioned by the OP is a very small seizure. My sister's would last several minutes and she'd be sore, bruised, and exhausted for a couple of days after.

My niece had a seizure that started at my house and lasted over an hour. Paramedics couldn't stop it. HEB hospital couldn't stop it. Cooks finally got it stopped. Scary shit.

Yeah, this guys lasted several minutes, paramedics came, etc. One happened literally about 1 minute after he clocked in and started helping a customer on the sales floor. Just fell straight backward into a display and doesn't remember any of it.

They are bad news. People have been known to bite their own tongues off. Very dangerous.

Can I ask how you will feel when he has another seizure and kills an innocent family while he is driving? You know he has them and yet you want him to keep driving? How is that different from protecting a drunk driver? Impaired is impaired, no matter the reason for the impairment.

Going in for an MRI and labs tomorrow. Anyone else have experience with seizures?
I have first hand experience with seizure as my brother was diagnosed with epilepsy 2 years ago. He had 5 grand mal seizures in about 6 weeks time period. Hope the MRI tells you something. Unfortunately after multiple MRI's and multiple EEG's, his doctor couldn't find anything causing the seizures and diagnosed him with epilepsy.

If you got the ER or a doctor about it, it's my understanding that they have to file a report with the state to temporarily "suspend" your driving privilege. They don't suspend your license but you can't drive until you've gone 9 months without a seizure and you have a doctors sign off saying you're medically well to drive. I've just gone through this with my younger brother in the past 2 years.

Things could have changed. My sister's seizures were probably 7 or 8 years ago and the guy at work was probably 4 years ago. They both ended up with suspended licenses, but after multiple trips to the ER, different meds that didn't work, etc.

I had one back in 09 and scared the hell out of me and my wife at 3AM. Come to find out I had a damn beach ball stuck in my brain. I did however get a pretty cool scar that goes from ear to ear.

Wow...pretty ignorant. What happens when your friend seizes while driving and kills himself...or someone else?

Didnt see this before I posted...but exactly the reason a person's driving privileges are suspended.

Looking back it was. However, there's a back story and he was already not driving at the time. I don't want to dish as he was a member here.

However, say someone has a seizure, loses their license for 6 months, etc. They have one behind the wheel while cleared......all that happens is they lose it again and get it back. It's a vicious cycle.

Not him. However, I was at the hospital when he decided to scare the crap out of all of us.

My brother had a close incident with this just 2 days after his first seizure. He had a grand mal seizure in his sleep and woke up with dried blood on his face, chest, pillow, and all over the bed. On top of that he had to make a trip back to the ER because of how swollen his tongue was, he could barely breathe. It was scary getting the text from him that morning asking to be taken to the ER.
