And that`s such a shame. I've heard the Fair Park Big Boy is just too far gone to restore. There was a movie deal with the Big Boy a few years ago, with talk of restoration, but it all fell through somehow.

Yeah, having seen what it takes to restore just a boiler, not to mention everything else is a HUGE undertaking and has a lot of oversight. They don't mess around when rebuilding boilers. If you go back and read about the devastation an exploding boiler can cause, its probably comparable to what happened in West. I have a book on old train accidents that is mesmerizing.

It is only about as far as Irving so far. Some of the wheels were dragging, misaligned or something that keeps slowing it down.
