Cobra 9070G. Best one I ever had. Goes off long before I see the cops and has great false alarm protection. Seems to pick up lidar well too.

I did not read all the posts, but have you considered Waze for your smart phone?

I generally am a 5 over type of dude, but I'd say 75% of the cops out there are posted on it and if not you post it. Not as...on the spot like a radar/laser detector, but it's free and another tool for the knowing what's on the road. (does more than just cops if reported by the user community)

I used to like RADAR detectors until lasers came out and all the money needed to try and circumnavigate that technology.

I will say I've noticed an increase of people flashing their lights for cops being setup again. That's nice to see.

Valentine 1 user here. Yes I've gotten speeding tickets with mine but every time it's been when I'm speeding and I'm pretty much by myself on the highway. Hard to beat instant on when you are the only person on the road

I've been flashing the lights at people more recently but have yet to see other's doing it.

That's pretty much what I've learned. I've had mine since 1999, probably time to get it upgraded

No kidding. When I was a city cop I got them all the time. For what its worth, if you have a radar detector, it was always an automatic ticket from me. Shows you intend to speed... a lot. Now I have people fly past my patrol car because it is an isd vehicle and they think we can't write tickets.

I would say only 25% of my stops result in tickets except for when they have no DL or insurance, then it jumps to 100%.

I haven't had any type of detector and have gotten 1 ticket for speeding in like 2002/2003, and before that it was a long time ago.
