It's kind of like fishing. You don't get every fish in the pond. You get a couple of keepers and go home...

Most are lazy, so radar detectors work 99% of the time as prevention IMO.

Yea, that's why the traffic guys write a book a day....

Passport 9500 for me. Don't care for teh arrows on the V1, not to mention it's massive size. I could care less about arrows, the display sucks, and it's very basic. I like the fact that the 9500 displays multiple things based on what you want. i have mine set to display my speed by default. do you really need to know which direction the cop is in? If he's around me anywhere, that's enough info for me.

What does that have to do with anything? Most people don't have a radar detector.

Seriously? Traffic's only job is to police the traffic.

No shit, I never knew that!?

I'm talking about the COPS that are assigned to traffic duty and their time better being used elsewhere.

8500 and 9500 are larger than the V1. I love the V1 but a 9500 with the escort live smokes a V1. Or, even better, the 8500ci plus with escort live would be great.

I've had both the 8500 and the 9500 and they both worked amazing, I never really used the red light camera/speed trap feature of the 9500. If your really wanting the best performance out there I would go with the red line everything I've read and heard shows its performance to be top notch, whichever one you go with get the hardwire kit it makes it look so much cleaner.

They mainly work the wrecks, but in between they work enforcement.

If each one is going through a book a day, don't you think that can be construed as excessive?

                              A book is only 25.

You can easily make 6 contacts per hour. That's only 2.5 hours of stops. It's not like the traffic guys run people for warrants or ask to search vehicles.

They see violation, make stop, issue warning/ticket and go on to the next one.

I was expecting the books to be somewhere between 100-200. With a population that size I can see where it would happen. Carry on then. (I still wish the police didn't write so many tickets.)
