  • Where to buy a timed relay that shuts off for for 10seconds?

I need to find a normally open relay that will only allow the circuit to be energized for 10 seconds and then stay off for 10 seconds. Im going to wire it to the starting circuits on some engine/compressors at work so the operators cant come out and just hold the start button until the wires melt or batteries drain.
Any ideas? I like the on/off time to be adjustable if possible

Might look at Newark.com we order control stuff from them and they carry a pretty massive inventory.

You're looking for a starter lockout relay (that's what we call it on the engine side)

When I get to my work laptop later I'll dig up some info for you. I like FW Murphy's programmable ones. I can set them to only allow 30 sec - cumulative - crank time every 120 sec. Pretty neat stuff

What is this going on? Tons of ways to do it, just depends on time and money. We have stuff we can program but it would probably be closer to $200-300.

Just about any electrical supply house can get you what you need.

Lone Star breaker and control in south Fort Worth is a good place to start. They stock a lot of Ice Cube Relays new and used.
