My brothers wife has MS. Not a fun thing to go thru. Hope she recovers well. My brothers wife is on meds that cost $42,000.00/year. That is out of pocket.

I was on Avonex till about 2 years ago and switched to the Gylenia pill. Tell your brother and his wife to call the manufacturer of her meds. They all have assistance plans. With the gylenia I'm taking now they automatically put on their plan without me even asking. The makers of the gylenia have what's called the Gylenia Go Program. They put me on it and don't charge me for my portion of the Med costs. Then they cover my Co payment also.

So tell them to look for something from the manufacturer. I bet they would be accepted and it would save them a ton of cash. If she's on avonex or gylenia I can give them the info needed to call and get signed up.

Never gonna happen...I've been madly in love with this lady for 32 years! And married to her for 22. If she can put up with all the bs I've put her thru I can handle whatever I need to.

I'm just giving you a hard time man, good for you for sticking around. My wife is between a size 4-6 and I'm having issues with that, but she's looking at a solid high paying gig, so I'll allow her to balloon to a size 6.

I hope she bounces back. I have MS and I've been very lucky so far as to not have any real major attacks. Stories like this freak me out a little.

It's scary all right, luckily every other time she's had an attack after a couple of days she's gotten better. Today she can't even slide her feet

She's tried all of the meds except that one. It didn't come out till after we lost insurance. Over all she's done better when she hasn't taken the meds. On the meds she would be in the hospital every 6 months or so, off of them it's been 4 years.

I'm telling you man, look into low dose naltrexone. It's a cheap medication with very few side effects and it's been shown to improve the quality of life in MS patients. I've been on it for over a year now for my crohn's disease and I feel better than I have in years. There are no real efforts to study it since it's an old drug and there is no money to be made, but it can be prescribed off label.

The Enbrel that my daughter was put on for her arthritis would have cost close to $4k/month for her dosage, but the manufacturer has a program that allowed us to get it absolutely free for 6 months, then they guaranteed it would never be more than $10/month after that.

If we can get in to see her neurologist we will ask for that. We have a call in but the office girl is talking like we will be treated as a new patient and they don't see new patients. It may not be a bad thing tho...his brother put her in the ICU for three days the last time she was in the hospital. She went in for a solumedrol (sp) treatment and her blood pressure crashed so they sent her to the ER. The Idiot said since your here anyway lets up the dosage by 10x. That was the scariest thing I have EVER been thru. I looked into her eyes and NOBODY was home! It took 6 male nurses and me to hold her down enough to sedate her.

I have a nephew that has MS, he has been ok for the most part, some days are better than others. Hope and pray all goes well for your wife and she makes progress with this recent set back.
