Cbs wants almost 600% more money per twc customer for us to air their channels. They are out of their minds. Sheer greed I guess. Cbs also owns Shotime and The Movie Channels, so those are all gone also. Total we are missing about 15 or so channels. I'm a twc tech, they gave us rabbit ears to give to subscribers if they want them...

Same here for the back room. I'm too cheap to pay for another set top box for Fios, so this one gets me by. Outstanding clear picture. My antenna up in the attic has been there almost 30 years. Only had to repair it once when a mouse chewed the twin lead in half!

No ktxa21 Friday night ranger games either. Seems like a bad decision by Twc but if it us a 600% increase I can see why TWC dropped them.

While they have great picture on a clear day, dish services can suck it.

I need to install an antenna up in the attic. I have some rabbit ears but for some reason there is always a channel I cannot pick up. Ch 8 is the one I cannot get right now which 8-2 is my go to Weather Radar so I miss it.

This varies dramatically by the quality of your install and your local tree population. My dish used to go out when there was severe weather but it turns out that most of that was because the installer left the adjuster bolts loose. I switched to the Hopper boxes and the installer zeroed everything and found the loose bolts, even with last nights storms it didn't flicker. My power goes out before the satellite feed now.

I hear it, but really have a hard time believing people when they say they do not lose signal. Mostly due to having both services at some point. As well as witnessing the loss of signal at pretty much every business I have ever been watching whatever when it storms.

Hopefully you have the almighty of the dishes but I will never go back to one unless I live in BFE and have no choice in the matter.

I was talking to a Direct TV installer the other day about this, he said depending on the dish, the newer ones have something like a 4 second delay, basically (best I can remember he said) signal comes in, gets recorded (for lack of a better term), then comes into the box. That way if signal is lost for a second or two, the delay picks up the slack and doesn't affect the box. Said with those dishes, it takes one hell of a storm to make it fuck up, and even then it rarely fucks up.

A Buffer would be smart, but it'd be better if they'd give it about 30 - 60 sec worth.
