I just started having attacks since I went to the er thinking I was having a heart attack. Now I just got to stop and breath or stay busy until I can sleep.

If I have time to think it makes it worse.

I stopped taking pills when i was 20. Ive had occurences since I was 19. I dont get them as much anymore. Sometimes i can feel one coming on and can talk myself out it, especially after a stressful day at work. Im just counting down the days until I have a nervous breakdown here at work and flip out on everyone.

i think exercise is a good help. as far as the meds i can tell you that every single person who has taken them is worse much worse off than they were before. watch the movie side effects before taking any of that crap or giving it to your kids. i still have anxiety somewhat especially around people i dont know.

Whatever the case may be it needs to be handled ASAP. Long periods of anxiety can lead to Dementia at an early age.

I had it back when I managed a a retail store. It kicked my ass for several years, noe I learn to control it by relaxing and going fishing and enjoying the outdoors.

Other than avoiding people, being tired seems to lessen it. Long hours at work and being busy, hobbies, etc usually help.

I have people close to me that have it bad. They manage it with celexa. They tried all of the non medication remedies out there and couldn't get a handle on it. They are better off on the drugs.

Yoga regularly. And very small dose of clonazipam when feeling an imminent attack coming on. Cognitive therapy works pretty well along with positive self talk, but she needs to be guided in how to do it most effectively by a licensed therapist. Once she has it down, she'll be able to do it on her own without therapy.

i was on adivan untill the doctor started having second thoughts about giving it to me. she says it is addictive. well, not having insurance, not being able to go to the dr i have learned to stay off it and controlling it. i was bad off when i went to the dr. i was always staying home, not getting out. not talking to my friends. my wife and i would fight all the time. one day we argued and she turned away from me, so i grabbed her arm. 2 days later, i was at the dr office. i told him about it and he prescribed adivan. that stuff is absolutely amazing. my attitude has changed and i learned to deal with my problems. don't get me wrong, being off the meds i still get "urges" and really wish i had the medication, but i make it through and deal.

Ativan is pretty decent, but the withdrawals of a drug containing benzodiazepines get pretty intense. Although, it does vary by person seeing as many people here take and like Celexa while that is one I'd never recommend.

i never had any withdrawls of any kind. i think it was Celexa i took, but it didn't do anything for my anxiety. it helped with my stress levels though.
