It wasn't the $425 million jackpot, but someone in North Texas is $1 million richer after Wednesday night's Powerball drawing.

Texas Lottery officials say a ticket sold in Arlington matched five of the numbers drawn, but not the Powerball. The ticket, worth $1 million, was sold at the Starcrest Valero on Sublett Road in Arlington.

Three other Texas cities had people match five numbers drawn: Amarillo, Mount Pleasant and San Antonio.

Three winning tickets were sold across the nation for the big $448 million jackpot – one in Minnesota and two in New Jersey. It was the third largest jackpot in the game's history.

kinda frustrating spending $20 on tickets and not even matching a single number.

I usually won't buy more than one.. I figure that the odds are so ridiculous that buying more than that really isn't improving my chances. If I hit it it would be purely dumb luck.

Frustrating would be buying $50 in scratch offs, winning $70, buying $50 more and pocketing $20 followed by losing every last bit of the $50.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy casinos, and $50 is nothing in that setting, but I could never imagine buying $50 worth of scratch offs.

I have maybe bought 2 or 3 scratch offs in the last 10 years..

I haven't bought one in years nor actual lotto numbers so last night was a rare occasion. I really hate the mess and being OCD trying to scratch every last spec is a pain. I leave for the casino tomorrow so it was a warm up and lesson learned to stop while I'm ahead.
